The announcement of Palin has also spurned a surge in demand for a biography of Palin that was released last Winter. Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska's Political Establishment Upside Down by author Kaylene Johnson was quickly stripped from shelves and both Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble ran out of copies. The publisher quickly released another edition on September 1st and the book is slowly being restocked as book stores receive copies. Amazon now has the book stocked.
Amazon Editorial Review: In 2006 an angel-faced but tough 42-year-old former small-town mayor named Sarah Palin became a long-shot candidate for Alaska governor demanding a higher ethical standard in state government. The timing of her reform message and a widening scandal produced a tornado that reshaped the political landscape. Surprising everyone, Palin thumped by wide margins both a sitting governor in the Republican primary election and a former governor in the general election to become Alaska's first female chief executive and its youngest ever.
Purchase this outstanding book that was authored before she was even considered for the Vice Presidency.

I am 66 years old and have been following presidential elections since I was in the fourth grade. I went on to major in hisory in college and taught for several years. I have not (in my lifetime) seen this much effort to destroy a decent human being. I am not talking about running against her in a spirited campaign. I am talking about smears, innuendo, attacks on her husband and children, even nasty, cruel comments about a little baby boy. Good grief, what is happening to us as a people? On top of that-GASP-the woman is a born again Christian!!!!! That means she has to be of below average intelligence. The Far Left likes to talk about free speech and tolerance as long as one's beliefs meshes with their politically correct groupthink. This attitude has permeated our university campuses that have become increasingly intolerant. This is not good for the health of our country. Morally and spiritually it is destructive.
I totally agree denless42's assessment. Sarah Palin has blown onto the political scene like a breath of fresh, clean air. She is individualist not collectivist. She has principles not shaped by groupthink, but by personal faith and conviction. She is unruffled by mean-spirited, shrill liberals' attempts to smear, ruin, and shake. She is steadfast and unshakable. Many of us see a diamond in the rough--well, not so rough--but something yet to be refined by a few more years of unselfish service. She simply is not guilty of the silly things of which she has been accused. Instead, she is every bit "guilty" of common goodness and decency, without guile, and at a time when we need our modern-day Joan of Arc to bolster an otherwise spineless society that continues to cowtow to those who would destroy life, usurp power, shrink before evil, and take from the workers and give to the drones. She instinctively knows what freedom looks like, acts like,a nd walks like. And she know anything that does not meet that profile, along with the responsibility that goes with it, is not freedom. We hope to see her run for President of the United States and we as a people may find one of the finest figures to save our Constitution from the tatters the liberals so badly want. Let's get her started on that noble journey by electing McCain/Palin in 2008 and Palin/fill-in-the-blank in 2012! -- Dr. Max S. Chartrand
