In the past few weeks the media has speculated as to how John McCain could possibly draw attention away from the Democratic Convention and maintain a presence in the headlines. Perhaps by a stroke a genius, the McCain campaign made the decision to shock pundits and Obama surrogates by not drawing attention to himself, but rather by highlighting Democratic Leadership that has blatantly ignored a large portion of their base and alienated over 50% of Hillary Clinton's supporters.
Despite the best efforts of Obama Surrogates, polling numbers have continued to show that nearly 1/4 of Clinton's supporters intend on voting for McCain in the fall and that another 25% remain undecided. As a result, the McCain campaign has chosen to feed off of this lack of unity and dissent by running ads using Clinton and even Biden's own attacks on Obama. But today's release of an ad featuring "Debra" will perhaps prove to be the most damaging to the DNC's Unity Fest. You can view the McCain as below.

Wisconsin Delegate Stripped Of Status For Not Supporting Obama!McCain Camapaign's Newest Ad
For the past year on the campaign trail we have heard speech after speech from Senator Obama calling for a change in Washington politics and claiming that he can end the polarization in Washington. However, less than 2 weeks after becoming the presumptive nominee the message from the Democratic leadership is clear: You are either with us or against us.
Reports surfaced late last week that Debra Bartoshevich, a Wisconsin Delegate supporting Hillary Clinton, had told the Journal Sentinel that she would vote for Clinton at the convention and John McCain in November. Bartoshevich’s sister, who had served in Iraq, encouraged Bartoshevich to sign up for “Citizens For McCain”, which prompted her public announcement. Bartoshevich said, “I just feel you need to have somebody who has experience with foreign matters”.The actions of Bartoshevich have embarrassed the Obama Campaign and DNC who have claimed to have been working to earn back the vote of Clinton supporters.
However, the Wisconsin Democratic Party immediately invoked a DNC rule requiring delegate’s to support the nominee and voted for a resolution to prevent the DNC from seating Bartoshevich at the Democratic Convention. The head of the Wisconsin Democratic Party remarked, “It’s extremely important that we send a message that Democrats in the state of Wisconsin will never support somebody who supports John McCain for president”According to the Wisconsin Journal Times [Since Friday’s announcement, Bartoshevich said she has been inundated with e-mails and phone calls from the national press, from other delegates and from people who have expressed their support. She said she hoped this year’s tight race makes the party re-examine its selection process.“I just think the Democratic process for selecting a nominee is flawed,” Bartoshevich said. “I don’t think anybody in the Democratic Party believed that it would be this close.”]

Pretty - it's a tense atmosphere in Denver and the best Obama can get from this affair is small and ephemeral rating bump. After that he'll keep trending down, while McCain will go up.
As James Taylor once sang, "Maybe you can believe it if it helps you to sleep."
