Arrogance Spreads: Daschle Refers To Obama as "Commander In Chief"

Arrogance Spreads: Daschle Refers To Obama as "Commander In Chief"

There can be no denying the increased level of arrogance within the Obama campaign and its surrogates. From Obama’s statements on the campaign trail to his adoption of the altered presidential seal, his campaign and surrogates genuinely believe that a primary win somehow anoints him as the new commander in chief.

Let’s make one thing clear to the Obama Campaign and DNC: An Illegitimate Primary Victory does not equate to the Presidency. But perhaps we should seek Former Senator Tom Daschle’s opinion on that.

During an interview on Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace asked Senator Daschle, “What happens if he goes there and if General Petraeus, the author of the surge, and Iraqi politicians say to him, ‘Look, we have made gains,’ the gains The New York Times talked about, ‘and if we follow your path and pull our troops out, we're going to lose everything we fought so hard to gain?’”

Daschle’s response was to the question was clear, “Well, I doubt very much that General Petraeus would say that, Chris. And obviously, he will factor in whatever information he's provided. That's the whole idea behind the trip.
But he is the commander in chief and he has made very clear that we've already spent more time in Iraq than we did in World War II. We've already spent more than $1 trillion. We've already lost thousands of lives and more thousands wounded.”

Did you catch that? I did and nearly choked on my cheerios when he made the statement. In cased you didn’t here it is again.

“Well, I doubt very much that General Petraeus would say that… But he is the commander in chief and he has made very clear…”

First Senator Daschle, I have a personal belief that when we enter into a military conflict we have a responsibility to allow our MILITARY, NOT CIVILIAN LEADERS to conduct the war. It was the civilian arrogance of the Bush Administration that overrode military leadership in conducting operations in Iraq, just as the Johnson Administration overrode military leadership in Vietnam and continued to order shifts in military objectives. Yes the president is the Commander-In-Chief, but history as shown us that the best Commander-In-Chiefs allow the Generals to do their jobs.

But let’s make clear the fact that Barack Obama IS NOT THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF. If he does visit Iraq prior to the general election, for the first time in over 900 days, he will STILL NOT BE THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF regardless of what logo he has painted on the side of his plane.

Let’s also make clear that even if Obama were to visit Iraq, can anyone truly believe anything of the rhetoric that flows from the Obama campaign following that visit. After all, this past week Obama, when referring to his phone call with the Iraqi Foreign Minister, stated No, he did not express that (on the question of whether the Minister expressed any concerns that Obama’s withdrawal policy would undo any security advances). He did emphasize his belief that we've made real progress and I think was eager to see political accommodations between the factions follow up in the wake of this progress."

Shortly after the statement, the Iraqi Foreign Minister pointed out Obama’s lie when he stated that he made it clear to Obama that “We have a deadly enemy. When he sees that you commit yourself to a certain timetable, he will use this to increase pressure and attacks, to make it look as though he is forcing you out. We have many actors who would love to take advantage of that opportunity…Really, we are making progress. I hope any actions you will take will not endanger this progress."

Obama has already proven himself as the quintessential Chicago “bossism-style” candidate, willing to say anything, manipulate the facts, and do anything to achieve his personal power objectives. Now he is being abetted by DNC leadership willing to overlook the American electorate to satisfy their lust for power. More disturbing however is the level of arrogance within the Obama campaign and his surrogates who believe that an illegitimate nomination equates to a presidential, “Commander-In-Chief”, victory.

I agree and, speaking about arrogance, have you seen Obama's new "Presidential Seal?" Does anyone else find this, well, creepy?

With respect to idiots and morons, Obama and his handlers, as well as shills such as Daschle, continue to show their stupidity as well as arrogance.

Come November, the people that they need to vote for the inexperienced fascist, racist and narcissist from Illinois will take notice of this behavior--and send the commander-in-chief of hot air and South Side Chicago back to his fiefdom in Illinois.

We can only hope the American electorate will see what you see. I don't understand why some polls have Obama up by 15%. Now, that's scary.

I emailed the article I read that in (from foxnews, couldn't find it at the time on cnn) to my husband, who is currently stationed in Iraq. He seemed to feel that it is dangerous for obama's camp to be making such sweeping statements about a country they obviously haven't visited and even when they do, they will only get a 'dog and pony show' rather than see what it REALLY is. Obama's naivete is horrific. The ARROGANCE shown by his campaign from that statement (which I had also asked my husband if I was mis-reading somehow!) somehow designating obama as Commander-in-Chief is APPALLING... I simply do not know what to say, for whatever reason the people of the United States have been so a) dumb, b) blinded by the MSM, c) blinded by trying to prove they're not racists, d) hateful of strong and smart women.... that they're voting in an egomaniacal fool. Again.
